Beware The Talc Squad!
I’ve just heard something on the local TV news which I thought was quite funny. Apparently the police here in Victoria have spent quite a few of the taxpayers dollars in training seven sniffer dogs to sniff out talcum powder, rather than drugs.
It seems that the cocaine “packages” got mixed up with the talcum powder ones and the mistake wasn’t noticed until all of the training had been completed. They must have wondered why the dogs kept on wanting to go to the bathroom all of the time! It kinda makes you wonder whether anyone even bothered to actually sniff the packages themselves during the training? I mean I’m surprised that some of the powder wasn’t “extracted” to be used for nefarious reasons anyway – some police being who they are and such.
However way you look at it the stuff always seems to end up on the street anyway!
I’m not sure if the problem can be fixed up or whether or not these doggies are duds for life? The news item didn’t offer any answers to that at all. Obviously our politicians will, no doubt, look into matters and get back to us about it? YEAH RIGHT!
So I guess that’ll probably make EVERYONE a suspect to these pups from now on!
Apart from that I watched the “new” Doctor Who tonight – pretty good I thought. Lot’s of action, fast paced, good effects and pretty well acted to boot! I’m not sure whether or not to get too involved with this new Doctor though as I understand he’s left the series now. That means another regeneration for The Doctor and the BBC. This’ll be the tenth regeneration (if you don’t count the spoofs and the webcasts). After that there’s just two more regenerations to go so the BBC had better pick well now that Christopher Eccleston’s not it the picture.
And as I’ve said to dozens of people who’ve emailed me and scores more on The REG Temple mailing list – I doubt that Richard E. Grant will ever be The Doctor in an extended series because I don’t think he’d want to spend so much time filming a series like that. He’s not said anything to me as such – it’s just my opinion.
It is a shame though because I think he makes an excellent Doctor Who!

Just happened upon your blog and I have three questions for you:
1) Did you know Michael Hutchens?
2) Are you aware that they are having a new reality show to find a lead singer for INXS (I am compltetly appalled by the thought)
3) Are you married? If not, will you marry me? That was a joke
1. I met some members of INXS at Maton Guitars (where I used to work) but I don’t think Michael was there? I have met him somewhere though but I can’t remember where. I also saw him (but didn’t meet him) at the taping of a music program called Countdown. That was about 1981-82 I think? INXS played “Stay Young”.
2. I’d heard about that, yes. INXS have had a couple of singers since Michael died, I recall? No hits as such though.
I can think of worse ideas for reality shows. In fact I think I’ve seen some!
3. Yes I am married, but things are a little awry at the moment as you can read in some of my posts. My wife’s name is Amy and she’s American. She’s actually in America at the moment.
Thanks for dropping by and commenting. Much appreciated.
