Back!
Well it’s been a LONG time between drinks I must say! All productive I might add – just not of a “blogging” nature. In fact I’d have to say that I’ve been so removed from blogging that it’s gonna take a little time for me to get used to how WordPress works again. I think I might’ve broken a few things with it when I was last here – for instance I notice the archives aren’t working right – so I’m gonna have to do some maintenance over the next few days or so – maybe even a fresh install? I’m not sure if I’ll be writing every day – I predict not. I will try to make an entry once or twice a week though to update what’s been happening around here. When you’re getting over a thousand emails a week – as I do – It’s a lot quicker for me to write one or two updates and have people catch up when they can and in their own time.
One thing I can say with confidence is that I got used to NOT having to blog every day and I quite enjoyed it. I’ve never kept a diary or journal of any sort so I’m not exactly used to the “write every day about your day” kinda thing. Still, The Speckled Band is a fairly efficient way to get whatever news out to a wider readership (friends, family etc.) so it’s already proven itself there. Sorry I dropped the ball on that over the past few months but there’s been a lot happening around here!
So what’s new? Well, Amy is back from the States and has settled back in to life here, writing has slowed considerably but web work has been frenetic! I’ve literally coded thousands and thousands of web pages in the past 6 months and it’s run the gamut from being cool and interesting and fun and challenging to down right choreworthy! Still, it’s pretty much behind me now so it’s almost time to get back into the writing (amongst other things). I had hoped to have two books out and selling by the end of 2005 but that’s not gonna happen now. Both of them should be ready sometime in 2006 though.
The podcasting idea with Adrian seems to be a bit too much for both of us. We’re just too busy doing our own stuff and can’t seem to get it together enough to even consider doing a TEST podcast – let alone a whole string of them. Not that I’m that worried about it (neither is Adrian for that matter). If it happens, it happens.
The weather’s getting to be quite nice again – of course that means we’ve got Christmas rapidly approaching! The malls and supermarkets are going to be crazy for a couple of months as people do their Christmas shopping – burning through their credit card limits faster than you can say “Speedy Gonzales”….. Then again I’ve got my own plans for Christmas gift giving which I won’t divulge here right at this time.
Until next time…
