Musings, Mutterings And Meanderings
When I first started this blog not all that long ago I had to decide on a short little “catch cry” to describe what people might expect when reading it – just a descriptive passage that I could then transpose wherever I saw fit. I quickly came up with “The musings, mutterings and everyday meanderings of author, artist, craftsman, musician and webmaster, Cameron Miller.” It was apt and basically said who I was and a few of the things I’ve done so far in my life.
I realize now that I should have given things a little more thought – if only because the word “musings” is an oft said one in the realm of weblogs!
I’ve noticed this particularly in the last week or so, where I’ve seen a score of other blogs use this word. Not that it’s a bad word at all. On the contrary, it’s a very appropriate word when it comes to weblogs. I’m just thinking lately though that, with a bit of thought, I might be able to come up with something a little better? I’ll start working on it from here on in.
Of course some people might say that “wanker” would be a suitable word…….and it’s kinda hard to disagree with that sometimes!
Goldie, the neighbor’s dog who stays at my house 24/7, is spending some time at the kennels while his family are away on holidays. I know this because I was awoken at the sound of a sparrow’s fart this morning with one of the neighbor’s kids yelling “Goldie! Goldie!”. It’s nice how they wait until at least 7.00am before they do this. Much appreciated!
Of course Goldie immediately ran to the front room and began barking at them from inside the house. He’s a good little guard dog in that regard! He eventually decided to turn around and go out the back door to meet up with his “real” owners who then, I assume, whisked him straight off to the kennels before boarding a plane to some exotic location.
So it’s reasonably quiet around here at the moment and Gus and I are enjoying the serenity. Though we do miss that little bugger!
Ohhh yeah, and Tom Cruise is an absolute nutter!
Actually I might finish off with that one for my special “Tom Cruise Week”?
And yes, it IS difficult to think of something clever!
There must be five billion blogs that use meanderings, it’s a great word but like everything else, loses it’s value on the 400 billionth go around :-)
But in your case, it’s perfect ! :)
When I started my blog, I used the the ponderings and ramblings of a real smartass. Then I started noticing that everyone was pondering and rambling. I am currently trying to decide on some changes on my blog, it is tough to come up with something clever sometimes.
BTW, I wouldn’t call you a wanker. Tom Cruise, now he’s a wanker!
I’m curious about how you changed your stats on BE? Did you delete your blog on BE and then added it again? I’m actually glad not to be #1 anymore, takes the target off my back. Just curious about how your stats drastically changed…..
tj – yeah well, I do meander and ramble on don’t I? It’s true.
Kat – Yup, that’s exactly what I did – I deleted my blog and then went through the whole process again. Obviously you lose all of your stats, comments and ratings when you do that, but still.
