Today I’ve spent most of my time sleeping in bed because I’ve not been feeling well. I think it’s just a general “flu-y” thing that’s going around but I’m feeling better now. I’m not sure how Amy’s been today but I suspect she’s been OK? As long as she gets to listen to her new sweetheart Garrisson Keillor she’s usually pretty happy. She’s had a bit of trouble logging on to the internet the past couple of days so I said she could use my laptop today. I can’t seem to make her computer “see” the broadband connection for some reason so Amy’s still on dial-up.

There’s a huge pile of dishes in the sink but I’ll tackle them later on. I dunno why it is but Amy produces a crap-load of dishes! I tend to “wash as you go” but Amy just piles dirty dish on top of dirty dish until the sink is full. Another weird thing about dishes in this household is that I can take about 10 minutes to wash the same amount of dishes – and to the same standard – as it would take Amy about 40 minutes to do? I can’t work out why except that maybe Amy “zones out” when she’s doing dishes? Granted they’re not the most exciting things in the world to do I must admit…..and needless to say that I try to do as many dishes as possible just because it’s more efficient for both of us that way.

Now sweeping the floors is a different matter! I’ll get into that some other time though.

I’ve put up a loose “About Me” page as it was long overdue. Of course it needs working on cause it’s basically the page I put up when I was trying to “sell” myself to publishers. It’s VERY egocentric! I also put up a FAQ page – without any questions at this time – and a page on the story of the original “The Speckled Band” in case people wanted to know a little about that? Basically I wanted to try and do this within the framework of the WordPress program so that if I change the theme, the extra pages will also change to keep in track with the rest of the site. That’s the theory anyhow.

I’m not sure how I’m going to do the “individual projects” pages though? Stuff like the books I’ve done or am working on, the tools I’ve made, music I’ve done etc. Ideally it would be good to do these through WordPress but I’m not sure I’d want them marked down as “pages”. I need to look into that though.

I want to put up some of my music too if possible? I’ve got a couple of things here but I need to “re-master” the older stuff that’s on vinyl and tape. I might also put a copy of “Fretless” on the site, as that’s the song Mike Mills from R.E.M. wrote for me a long ways back after I gave him the fretless bass. Actually, now that I think about it I might put the “story” of how that all came about? There’s a chance that it might go in a book currently being compiled by Louise Daniels over in England. I checked with Mike a couple of weeks back to see if he had any objections to me submitting the story and Mike said that he felt comfortable with it, which is cool.

Went back to Blogshares just before. I bought some “ideas” and also got 3 artifacts. I have no friggin idea what I’m doing but it is fun.

OK, well enough of that! I really should get on to doing those dishes!

NOTE: I’ve just uploaded a “low rez” copy of Fretless to the site. You’ll need RealPlayer to play it. I don’t think the guys at R.E.M. will mind me doing that?
