Feeeeed Me!!
I’ve found out what’s been happening with my WordPress feeds – SWEET NOTHIN! I mean sometimes they update, but most times they don’t. No wonder my FeedBurner stats read 0-1-0-2-0-2-0-2-0-3-0-2 users all the time! To FeedBurner, and the people who have had the “misfortune” to subscribe to me through there, this is virtually a DEAD BLOG – and people don’t tend to hang around dead blogs too long (or dead people for that matter). Now while I personally have yet to embrace the whole feed phenomenon I realize that there are quite a few people who do. Moreso, if something just doesn’t work right it’s damned annoying and you wanna try and fix it up at least. Anyhow, I must apologize to everyone out there who’s trying to read this through rss. I haven’t yet figured out how to fix it, but I’m working on it. I have a feeling it might have something to do with one of my WordPress plugins so I’m checking through those first. If I still can’t work it out I might have to do a clean install of the program and then go from there.
I’ve also been looking at maybe working on another theme or two for the blog, based on the default theme which I feel works well. I know one of the themes I want to try and do is a Woodlore one.
On other matters I’ve been throwing myself into other creative areas. I managed to do a TON of work on The REG Temple and I’m pretty happy, so far, with how it’s all going. The main problem with it though is that it’s difficult to test out how everything is going unless I upload it and check it through a browser. Because I’m keeping all of the filenames intact I can’t do things “on mass” as I’ll be overwriting the current files – which I don’t want to do just yet. Instead I’m uploading “test pages” in php to see how the templates are working, tweaking any problems there may be and then transposing whatever code to the new pages. It’s working out just fine, so far, but it is slower than I would like it to be. I definitely want the new and improved Temple to “go live” within the next couple of months – sooner if possible?
I’ve also been getting some inspiration for the new site I’m creating for my athlete friend Christine. I’ve been checking out some of the other “athlete type” websites out there to see how they’ve got things formatted. Once I’ve got a few ideas together I’ll start working it all out on paper before I get around to any computer work. Speaking of Christine, she flew out of Melbourne early yesterday morning bound for Canada and the World Transplant Games. I hope she does well.
In between website work I’ve been knocking together a set of violinmakers planes and fixing up various things around the house. I might post some pictures up here of the planes once I’ve finished them.
I’m also thinking about making one or two instruments but I need to check my wood supply upstairs before I can get into that. Once again I’ll probably take some pictures of that and post them up on here.
Book writing has been “on hold” over the past week or so but I have been writing a ton of blog entries as backups in case I don’t have anything particular to say on some days……oh, and in case I’m “forced” to go on an extended blog break! ;-)
…..Actually I’ve just checked and I may have my feed problem worked out? Here’s hoping!
